THEORY AND METHODOLOGICAL SUPPORT OF DIAGNOSIS TOURISM POTENTIAL IN REGIONS OF UKRAINE

Abstract. Particular practical studies, which are aimed at the identification, systematization
and analysis of tourism resources and facilities, cause special tourist interest and become
motivated for a trip. Unreliable assessment of tourism potential can lead to excessive anthropogenic
impact on the tourism resources of exhaustion and even losses, and vice versa - a lack
of a territory that has a high tourism potential. Thus, the scientific study of systematic approaches
to the quantitative definition of tourism potential is of practical importance and is es-
pecially important for Ukraine’s regions, with different «travel profile» and provides a rich mosaic
of tourist resources of our country.
The article states that the study of the problems of sustainable development of tourism for
many researchers tourism resources is the dominant element, and often the essence of tourism
potential.
However, the presence of only tourist resources does not ensure mass flow of tourists; creation
of sustainable tourism demand is a necessary activity of a wide range of subjects that are in the
location of sites of tourist interest produce and offer the consumer services with customer value
and meet the needs of physical and spiritual renewal and development of the tourists. Thus, the
reasonable conclusion is that the potential tourist market is formed by the simultaneous existence
of tourism resources (objects of tourist interest), producers of tourism services in the location
of tourist resources and consumers of tourism services that travel to the location of tourism resources.
Thus, in order to reasonable quantification of potential tourism market research is essential
tourist resources, the demand and supply of tourism services.
A justified conclusion is that the potential of domestic tourism market varies by type of tourism
and tourist potential is a function of supply and demand.
For a reasonable choice of parameters of quantitative and qualitative assessment of potential
tourism market survey conducted by the expert. At the design stage of the system diagnostic
potential of domestic tourism market and along with the list of indicators as set weights that
reflect the importance of each indicator as in the evaluation of the potential of the internal market
of tourist services on a particular type of tourism.
Thus to achieve the objective evaluation of potential tourism market in the aggregate indicators
of quantitative and qualitative assessment of identified variations according to the different
types of tourism.
Under the proposed methodological approach offers the potential of specific services tourism
market is formed by the potential sites of tourist interest and specific producers of tourism services,
that enterprises in the hospitality and transport.
So, as a result of testing the proposed methods of diagnosis tourism potential based on statistics
confirmed that Ukraine has a high potential for health, wellness, spa, historical, cultural
and ecological tourism; industrial and business tourism have an average capacity and require
expansion of tourist interest sites and develop tourism infrastructure. Potential domestic tourism
market is heterogeneous on a regional structure.
