The problems of comparative law in the works of Valtazar Bohishych

The article is devoted to the life of Croatian comparatist Valtazar Bogišić and to the analysis of his concept of comparative study and teaching of the Slavic countries law. Bogišić became the continuator and in the same time the critic of the historical school of law in the comparative jurisprudence traditions and the author of their original synthesis with the ideas of sociological positivism. He was one оf the first chair of Slavic Legislations History in Russian Empire, namely in Novorossiyskiy (Odessa) University, create the program and principles of teaching this comparatistic discipline.Keywords: comparative jurisprudence, historical school of law, sociological positivism, idea of Slavic law, law of Slavic countries.
