Abstract

The article identifies seven key changes within NATO following the invasion: the
approval of a new NATO Strategic Concept, the extension of the American troop presence in Europe,
reinforcement of the eastern front, development of consistent plans for defense against Russia,
increased defense spending, Sweden and Finland’s membership in the NATO, and improved political
solidarity among the member countries. These changes highlight NATO’s efforts to anticipate new
security threats in Europe and are a manifestation of the changes in this organization’s response to
threats in the geopolitical sphere.
