Abstract

Defining the object of security, namely, the specific values to be protected within
and by a particular collective security model as recognized officially by its members,
presents one of the tasks for research in the field of international legal guarantees of in-
ternational peace and security. An overview of the object of international security in its
historical development is given, following the analysis of international instruments deal-
ing with the maintenance of international peace and security. Some basic trends in the
historical development of the object of security are put forward.
