The relatons between Directory of UNR and government of the Soviet Russia in 1918 – 1919: undigested history lessons

This article of the analysis of Ukrainian – Russia interstate relations during 1918-1919 years. We consider it is our duty to remind the Ukrainian community about dramatic events of the recent past in order that they may be a visible lesson for the present, because like almost a hundred years ago, Russia remains a key factor in Ukrainian foreign and, sadly, domestic policy. Especially it becomes obvious during political crises. As history proves, the Ukrainian government calls for Russia’s assistance in the moments when its legitimacy is being questioned.
