PUBLIC RELATIONS IN EUROPEAN INFORMATION SPACE

Abstract. Analyzed research approaches to the development of public relations in modern Europe.
The author states that the organizational component of the trans-European information
space is a wide network of information institutions and organizations, including a variety of
PR-structures that are running on separate trans-European bodies and the PR-system and PR
– agencies, the departments of institutions and organizations of national and transnational level.
The analysis of sources devoted to the study of PR- activities European countries , made an attempt
to systematize the existing studies on several criteria , such as the overall evaluation of
social communications in the European information – communication space; historiographical
description of PR research in Europe; for studying practice of PR institution EU and different
structures of trans-European , national and local levels, as well as non-governmental organizations
and representatives of civil society; comparative work that analyzes the experience of a
few or a single European country; the gender dimension of development in communications
with the public and empirical studies that based on statistical and sociological methods.
