Abstract

Abstract. The article concerns the rationale for consideration of the network paradigm of
building economic relations as a factor ensuring the country’s competitiveness in the globalized
economy. Theoretical nature of the network paradigm is characterized and features of modern
network economy, based on this paradigm, are determined herein. In particular, current network
economy is based on the fifth technological structure; it creates opportunities for the globalization
of financial, goods and labor markets, establishes direct horizontal links between
different individuals etc.
Transformation of content and properties of the market economy in the new environment is
shown. The tasks essential to transforming the economy to the network type in order to ensure
its competitiveness in the current context of globalization are described. The key problems of the article are introduction of project management innovation of global business, commercialization
of scientific research results, management of global business, development of competition
etc.
The role of a state in shaping national preferences is considered. The monetary, fiscal and customs
policies of the state affect the parameters of production factors.
Analysis of the economic policies of different countries shows that developing countries
should rationally incorporate their national economies in a complex network of economic relations.
Having regard to the above, foreign policy should include creation of conditions for development
of export industries or sectors oriented to export production; assessment of the
appropriateness of certain industries development and closing industries, unable to compete
with import production; border protection, financial and fiscal incentives.
