Abstract

Abstract. Despite many contradictions within the WTO, which caused ineffectiveness in regulating
the global trade environment in the early twenty-first century, Ninth Ministerial Conference
in Bali on December 2013 ended with the signing of agreements on further international
trade liberalization. Agriculture, customs procedures simplification and preferences for the least
developed countries were the main areas in which mutual understanding among all WTO members
was achieved.
The paper analyzes the prerequisites of signing of Bali package and provisions of three main
blocks of agreement; their role and influence on the development and liberalization of world
trade is defined. The challenges facing the institution of multilateral negotiations in trade are characterized. The challenges and opportunities facing Ukraine in connection with the entry
into force of new rules of international trade regulation at the supranational level are investigated.
Key words: WTO, Bali package, Doha Round, «G-33», export subsidies, «green box», food
security, least developed countries.
