THE EVOLUTION OF INTERNATIONAL BROADCASTING IN THE FOREIGN COUNTRIES: THE EXPERIENCE FOR UKRAINE

Abstract

Abstract. The international broadcasted is a specific form of activity which since the days
of its appearance considerably evolved from the separate radio services to the multimedia corporations
which using a combination of different platforms-radio, television, Internet network
in their work. The remains unchanged that international broadcasting is an important instrument
of the promoting and protecting the national interests abroad, forming and maintaining a positive
image of their own country in the world for most states. That is why the most of the international
broadcasted services carries out its activities under the auspices of their own states and
the substantial state budget financing.
The representation abroad of Ukraine has been patchy, and sometimes - distorted in the results
of the purposeful activities of foreign subjects of information relations and unsatisfactory
functioning of the Ukrainian’s international broadcasting services.
Under such circumstances the first priority should be the government stepped up efforts on
mitigating asymmetry in the exchange of information flows between Ukraine and other countries,
to improve the mechanism of objective and attractive presentation of the world. The available
Ukrainian’s international broadcasting services turn into the effective instrument for the realization
national information policy abroad possible by combining the existing government services
into the international broadcasting media holding, that includes television channels, radio
and Internet broadcasting and providing the necessary funding to create the quality competitive
programs, formatting and functioning of the required number of the language versions and increase
the broadcast time programs.
