Abstract

Reform of the electoral legislation of Ukraine in order to bring them into line with European standards is a condition of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU. Namely the electoral legislation is closely monitored by the European institutions, especially the Venice Commission and OSCE / ODIHR. Through the work of these institutions the system of European electoral standards was developed, including the Code of Good Practice in Electoral Matters. This article analyzes if the state of the electoral legislation of Ukraine and prepared amendments thereto complies with the European electoral standards.
