The humanitarian intervention: the concept and role in international relations

In the present article the author examines the problem of unilateral use of force for humanitarian purposes in contemporary international relations. In particular, the need for more decisive application of peaceful means of influence upon certain states in order to prevent humanitarian crises and obviate the reasons for humanitarian interventions to be carried out is grounded.Key words: UN, intervention, use of force, humanitarian crisis, human rights.
