The collective self-defense: the UN Charter and law of the European Union

Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of international legal norms of collective self-defense. Factors of the development of the European system of international defense, development of the institute of collective self-defense in the European Union are scrutinized in the article. In this connection Lisbon Treaties of the EU and functioning of the EU аre described. These Treaties allocate the member states right on collecting self-defense for the first time since the EU functioning.
