Abstract

The article tells about the UK complicated position in the UNO concerning its regulation of decolonisation processes which took place after the World War II. Conflicts in South Africa, India and Pakistan were the ones for Britain to demonstrate its capability to settle down armed conflicts in former dependencies. The same was done during the 1982 Falklands War when the UNO appeared to be unable to prevent hostilities between the two UN member-states.
