“UKRAINE-ASEAN: VISION OF COOPERATION” BRIEF REVIEW

Abstract

The article provides the research of relations between Ukraine and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). In recent years, due to the external threat to the territorial integrity of our country, Ukraine's regional policy has undergone significant transformations. The Southeast Asia (SEA) region deserves special attention especially taking into consideration the «New Horizons Policy» of Ukraine. Despite the geographical distance, both sides recognize the importance of dialogue and finding ways to cooperate. Given the role and significance of ASEAN at the regional and global levels, Ukraine seeks to deepen cooperation with the organization, to promote its national interests in the international arena and to contribute to regional stability and prosperity.

The article highlighted a brief analysis of the document «Ukraine-ASEAN: vision for cooperation», which outlines the current state and prospects of bilateral relations. The policy-paper is explored from the perspective of a roadmap for strengthening interaction and identifying specific areas of cooperation between Ukraine and ASEAN in the political, economic and humanitarian areas.
