Abstract

Abstract. Using information as an inexhaustible resource of development with the latest
events in information and communication technologies initiated the formation of Worldwide Information
Space which reveals the humanity unlimited possibilities. All leading countries seek
to secure for themselves a leading position in the global information space that explains the
growing dependence of the place of the state on the world arena from the development of national
information society.
Today, when we talk about information and its freedom, first of all, it is necessary to talk
about the opportunities offered by the Internet. In the context of active use of the global information
environment Ukraine faces new issues of legislative regulation of information relations
which arise in the human – Internet system. One of the negative effects of development ICT in
various spheres of social life is infringement of individual rights, which is manifested in the illegal
collection, use and distribution of personal information, including in the Internet, and the
lack of adequate legal regulation of personal data protection increases the number of offenses
in this area.
The article reviews the legal regulation of personal data on the Internet in the context of information
society’s economy. The international experience in this field is analyzed. The basic prerequisites
for Ukraine's integration into the global information space are determined.
