Abstract

Abstract. This article covers French proposals concerning further development of CSDP,
the outcomes of implementation of these initiatives, as well as obstacles which hamper the intensification
of political and military integration in the EU according to the French scenario. It
also defines the CSDP’s role in the Paris strategy of European integration and objectives that
France sets for itself in this direction. Outlined are the main realistic projects within the CSDP
which Paris stood for and which are gradually come true. Analysed are positions of other EU
member states concerning French version of CSDP development. The author pays special attention
to the German and British positions in this context. Berlin favours as a whole initiatives
from Paris in the field of political and military EU integration, but German vision of further development
of CSDP differs from the French one in terms of concept. London always stood aside
initiatives within the CSDP in a certain way, whereas Britain prefers NATO and considers CSDP
as an additional practical instrument. The article also outlines prospects of further development
of CSDP.
Key words: France, EU, CSDP, military means, crisis management, Germany, Great Britain.
