Abstract

Abstract. The articles concerns the results of current issues and problems of the unilateral
implementation of trade measures by the European Union, taking into account the policy of diversifying
markets and stimulate the supply of Ukrainian products in the EU Member States.
Unilateral opening of the EU market, started in May 2014, led to the cancellation (or reduction)
of tariffs on exports of manufactured goods and agricultural products in Ukraine.
According to the possibility of an unilateral free trade Ukrainian business was able to increase
exports to the EU by 25% in dollar terms.
Agriculture and agricultural processing industry of Ukraine received the greatest benefits
from the introduction of asymmetric preferences from the EU.
Thus, the EU agreed to extend the unilateral preferences for Ukraine until December 31,
2015. Accordingly, an Association agreement with Free trade area will not be applied until that
time.
Suspension of implementation of the deep FTA with the EU affects primarily on the state
budget revenues, quota policy, as well as on the reform and modernization of domestic enterprises,
which should use the grace period to improve its competitiveness.
Key words: Association Agreement, the free trade area, industry, agriculture, duty.
