THE DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY OF UKRAINE TWIN CITIES’ COOPERATION (THE EXAMPLE OF LUTSK CITY)

Abstract. The strengthening of integration processes in Europe demonstrates the raising impact
of the regions on the interstate and interregional relations activation. Today, cooperation

between different areas gradually becomes a function of local government. Under independent
Ukraine the partnership relations of twin cities gained new impetus. They became widespread
and stimulated the development of inter-municipal partnerships with abroad cities. However,
since gaining an independence, Ukraine has not been formed methodological framework of twin
cities relations formation. This article examines the main features of the development strategy
of Ukraine twin cities’ cooperation. The article investigates the key elements of effective implementing
system of Ukraine twin-cities’ cooperation establishing with abroad cities. An integrated
development strategy of twin cities’ cooperation with an example of Lutsk city on the
duration of 2015-2020 is examined.
