Abstract

Abstract. The pharmaceutical industry in developed countries is one of the most dynamic and
profitable, but also serves as a special segment of the market that is regulated by state authorities
as well as controlled by insurance medicine. However, the pharmaceutical market is a powerful
industrial sector, which is among the five most profitable sectors of the global economic
complex.
Ukrainian pharmaceutical market, which is the second largest pharmaceutical sales in the
CIS after Russia, includes the production of pharmaceuticals and medical products, wholesale and retail of pharmaceutical products through a network, specialized storage and distribution.
It consists of a hospital segment and retail businesses that are mainly pharmacy chains.
The article deals with current trends in Ukraine’s pharmaceutical market, analyzes its structure
and growth dynamics in pharmaceutical sales. Emphasized the directions needed for a national
high-tech and pharmaceutical industries ensuring the creation of innovative
pharmaceutical infrastructure.
