Abstract

Abstract. Measuring of index of human development (HDI) was founded by Program of Development
of the UN in 1990. Since the results of calculations of HDI are annually made public
in Human Development Report. However, UNDP experts note that the HDI provides an
opportunity to estimate the level of social welfare achieved at some particular time. Meanwhile,
further scientific research leads to understanding the expediency calculation of the prospects for
maintaining and improving the progress of human development performance. Actual tasks that
currently appears to scientists around the world, is the rationale involving additional indicators
for calculating the index of sustainable human development (S-HDI).
Key words: human development index, the index of sustainable human development, a locative
efficiency, human welfare, ecological footprint.
