The trade-economic relations between Ukraine and the countries of BRICS

Abstract

The current state and the prospects for development of trade and economic relations between Ukraine and the BRICS members: Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa are analyzed in the paper. The analysis of dynamics of trade balance and the analysis of commodity composition of trade turnover between Ukraine and the BRICS members show that it is important to overcome the tendency of negative balance growth by means of increasing the share of high-technology goods in export, promoting import substitution with the help of supporting the national producer and consolidating the science and production cooperation in high-technology industry sectors between the countries.
