Abstract

Annotation. Humanity faces the challenge of identifying ways how to adapt and mitigate the effects of global climate change. A thorough analysis of all the adaptive capabilities and institutions involved in this process is required to meet this challenge. Climate change mitigation and adaptation is a cross-border, multi-level, multi-sectoral and multi-activity challenge with long-range, specific characteristics and many uncertainty parameters. Therefore, many different actors from different sectors are involved in regulating this process with their strategies and interests. There are several key players who play a special role. These include civil society institutions. The authors analyzed Ukrainian and international practices of civil society involvement in addressing global climate challenges. Keywords.
