GENEARAL PRINCIPLES OF ETHICAL POLICY

The APIR journal is committed to meet the highest standards of ethical behaviour at all stages of the publication process, including the gender balance and diversity of scientific research in the fields of International Relations, International Law, World Economy and International Economic Relations, International Communications.

The editorial team actively opposes any possible conflicts of interests. All authors, reviewers and editors are kindly required to declare any interests that could compromise, conflict or influence the validity of the publication.

Being fully aware of the fact that the Founder of the Journal is Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv we deliberately established the editorial team that includes well-known foreign (meaning not citizens of Ukraine and not employees of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv) scholars and researchers. In rare cases, when the subject of the article is overly connected with internal and very specific Ukrainian issues, member of editorial team may request the opinion of member of advisory board to editorial team for purposes of clarification and better understanding of some historical, legal or economic features in Ukraine.

Authors responsibilities 

The editorial team of the APIR journal strongly requires that authors who are going to make a submission observe standards of publication ethics as set out by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE, https://publicationethics.org/core-practices). Falsification or fabrication of data, plagiarism, including double submission (to the APIR and simultaneously to any other journal) and misappropriation of the work are fully unacceptable. In any cases of ethical misconduct, the APIR journal editorial team will deal with it in accordance with the COPE guidelines. Falsification or fabrication of data, plagiarism, including double submission (to the APIR and simultaneously to any other journal) and misappropriation of the work are fully unacceptable. In any cases of ethical misconduct, the APIR journal editorial team will deal with it in accordance with the COPE guidelines.

Authors, willing to submit a manuscript are also obliged to participate in a double blind peer review process in line with well-known practices and our requirements, specifically, Elsevier:

All authors of the submitted article admit their full or partial (depending on the specific part of the article written by author) responsibility for a whole manuscript or a particular section of the submitted scientific article. The authors (or a specific author responsible for a part of the submitted article) are obliged to make corrections in order to eliminate mistakes detected in a course of a review processed by editors. 

The author(s) should provide a list of references in accordance with the Journal requirements. All statistics must be verified with links to sources. All citations must end with links to sources. All references should be drawn up in English, in cases the original text of the reference is Ukrainian (or Russian), authors are asked to make the transliteration of these references. Authors may use the following site for these purposes: http://ukrlit.org/transliteratsiia

The authors are required to reveal any financial interests or connections, direct or indirect, or other situations that might raise the question of bias in the work reported or the conclusions, implications, or opinions stated including pertinent commercial or other sources of funding for the individual author(s) or for the associated department(s) or organization(s), personal relationships, or direct academic competition.

Peer-review process

All of scientific articles submitted for publication to the Journal are subject to double blind peer-review. The sequence of procedures executed by editorial team is the following:

- the application phase. The article is submitted online by means of ''Make a submission'' button and is accepted by either the executive editor or one of assistant editors to the executive editor. Article is checked with the application of Unicheck programe for plagiarism, the level of text matches can't exceed 15% for articles on world economy and international economic relations and international business, 20% for articles on international relations, international information and international law. In case the specified indicators are exceeded the article would get refused and authors will be asked either eliminate the corresponding parts of text or put appropriate references;

- member of the editorial board executes the double blind review procedure, doublechecks for the cases of plagiarism. If the article includes cases of meaningful plagiarism not detected in course of Unicheck procedure the article would get refused and authors will be asked either eliminate the corresponding parts of text or put appropriate references; 

- revising and finalizing the article due to edotors' recommendations by authors; 

- decision-making by the Editorial Board members and the editor in chief.   

Publishing schedule 

The APIR scientific journal is being published since 1996. In 2022 APIR is going to publish four issues according to the following schedule:

Issue 150 No 1/2022 - March 31, 2022; 

Issue 151 No 2/2022 -June 30, 2022;

Issue 152 No 3/2022 - September 30, 2022;

Issue 153 No 4/2022 - December 30, 2022.
